Hey, I'm Zara!
Hi I’m Zara Lipsett, and I am The Whippet Expert.
I have had Whippets for the last 14 years, living with four whippets (and a jrt). After growing up with a collie and a gsd, Whippets were definitley an experience I was not expecting!
Where the dogs I grew up with would never dream of stealing food, I suddenly had a dog willing to scale counters to grab a crumb off it! I had a dog who questioned me when I attempted to train him. Asking the questions; "What is in it for me?"
Over the years with Marley, then Ollie, Arthur & Arkle I learned all about how to train & motivate Whippets effectively to help them be the best companions possible.

It's been amazing working with Zara! We live in the US and I've had more success and our whippet has learned more from doing Zoom calls with Zara than doing any in-person training here! The reason why is because Zara "gets" whippets. Like, she knows more about them, how they think, how they cope, everything about them, more than anyone I've ever met. She makes training easy and fun! Highly recommend!!!
Having just completed an online 4 week Reactive to Responsive course with Zara, I can honestly see the difference it has made already. I have learned so much about my dog’s behaviour and body language, including my own on our walks! The sessions were small in size so I knew that Zara was really engaging with me as a client and observing my dog individually to understand his needs. Myself and Odin feel much more relaxed on walks together and I’m looking forward to enabling him to become even more happier and more confident!
We are so happy to have found Zara! Zara and her knowledge of whippets is incredible. We attended a few online classes and signed up to the School for whippets and saw massive improvements in the behaviour of our whippet Cream. She is easy to understand and breaks the training into bite size concepts so they are very easy to follow and do on your own. I don’t think our dog would be the same well behaved dog she is today without Zara’s help.

Zara is a brilliant trainer. She gave us some really helpful things to try with our whippet, re-assured us with what we’re doing and was really kind and friendly. We had a 90 minute call which has given us so much to start with helping our dog and she’s always at the end of the phone to support when needed. We would absolutely recommend Zara for any dog training.
Zara (and Arkle) really helped when training our whippet puppy. I did this alongside local puppy training, but having someone that knows whippetsand their oddness/traits/etc really helped us understand our pups thought process. We are now entering the terrible teens but we keep going back to the basics that we learnt just to reinforce everything. We did the online course and despite technical issues at our end Zara made sure we received all the information and even offered a one to one if we struggled. I'd recommend whippet wonders to anyone with a whippet pup x

I live in another country, can you work with me?
Whippet Wonders has worked with clients around the world. Everywhere from USA, Australia, Denmark, Italy, Spain, France and more! Zooms can take place from anywhere in the world and you can buy courses from anywhere too.
Don't you need to see my dogs "bad behaviour" In person?
During a zoom I don't need to see your dog doing the wrong behaviour, our goal is to set your dog up for success. This would be the same as if I were in person. If you have any relevant video clips, that is handy, but our focus is on solutions and moving forward!
Do you work with other Breeds?
I work with Whippets, Whippet mixes, Italian Greyhounds, Lurchers, Bedlington Whippets - anything that is a bit "sighthound-y". I can be persuaded to work with other breeds in some circumstances.
Do you charge extra for multi dog households?
There is NO extra charge for households with multiple dogs. We can cover the most pressing issues for your multidog household in each session.
What if my dog is not food motivated?
If your dog is not a super foodie, don't worry! Motivation is a tricky topic, but very often it is about how we use food and we will cover strategies during your 121 zoom session.
Would a course or 121 suit me best?
Self paced courses or the School For Whippets are ideal if you are motivated and able to work on your own. Perfect if you are pressed for time. While 121's can be ideal if you need a plan, structure or help with a specific problem. Get in touch if you are unsure.
