Whippets are wonderfully Unique! Big characters and incredibly loyal. Their unique nature however can certainly bring a unique set of challenges. Recall problems, confidence issues, reactivity & separation anxiety can create frustration and problems between you and your Whippet.
Whippets have a sensitive nature, which means they can struggle with “traditional” or “old school” training techniques. More punitive methods can create conflict between the Whippet and their owner and create WORSE problems for your dog.

Hey, I'm Zara!
Hi I’m Zara Lipsett, and I am The Whippet Expert.
I have had Whippets for the last 14 years, living with four whippets (and a jrt).
My passion is to make life with your Whippet easier! Helping you enjoy your day to day life with your whippet. Calmer walks, less distractibility and solving your everyday problems.
And the most important part? I don't want to take away their personality! Whippets are so unique and their character is a part of that., training should work to improve their training and lives, not remove their unique personalities.
I work to help pups calm down and settle in, teach focus to teens and solve behaviour problems, with my specialism being reactivity.
My goal is to empower owners with the plan and practical skills to train their dogs. Creating happier whippets and owners.

Zara is a brilliant trainer. She gave us some really helpful things to try with our whippet, re-assured us with what we’re doing and was really kind and friendly. We had a 90 minute call which has given us so much to start with helping our dog and she’s always at the end of the phone to support when needed. We would absolutely recommend Zara for any dog training.
Zara (and Arkle) really helped when training our whippet puppy. I did this alongside local puppy training, but having someone that knows whippetsand their oddness/traits/etc really helped us understand our pups thought process. We are now entering the terrible teens but we keep going back to the basics that we learnt just to reinforce everything. We did the online course and despite technical issues at our end Zara made sure we received all the information and even offered a one to one if we struggled. I'd recommend whippet wonders to anyone with a whippet pup x

I live in another country, can you work with me?
Whippet Wonders has worked with clients around the world. Everywhere from USA, Australia, Denmark, Italy, Spain, France and more! Zooms can take place from anywhere in the world and you can buy courses from anywhere too.
Don't you need to see my dogs "bad behaviour" In person?
During a zoom I don't need to see your dog doing the wrong behaviour, our goal is to set your dog up for success. This would be the same as if I were in person. If you have any relevant video clips, that is handy, but our focus is on solutions and moving forward!
Do you work with other Breeds?
I work with Whippets, Whippet mixes, Italian Greyhounds, Lurchers, Bedlington Whippets - anything that is a bit "sighthound-y". I can be persuaded to work with other breeds in some circumstances.
Do you charge extra for multi dog households?
There is NO extra charge for households with multiple dogs. We can cover the most pressing issues for your multidog household in each session.
What if my dog is not food motivated?
If your dog is not a super foodie, don't worry! Motivation is a tricky topic, but very often it is about how we use food and we will cover strategies during your 121 zoom session.
Would a course or 121 suit me best?
Self paced courses or the School For Whippets are ideal if you are motivated and able to work on your own. Perfect if you are pressed for time. While 121's can be ideal if you need a plan, structure or help with a specific problem. Get in touch if you are unsure.
